Scriptures to read:

Matthew 10:1-25; Leviticus 7-8; Proverbs 22

In our world today, we have multiple conundrums that are taking place in our daily lives. Webster’s Dictionary defines a conundrum as an intricate and difficult problem. As a country, we face problems for which no one seems to have an answer. In our personal lives, we have many stresses and obligations that seem to be never ending. Through it all, we search for answers by consulting people and different philosophies but end up being disappointed when our self-prescribed ‘means to an end’ fails us.

Proverbs 22:12 states that “the eyes of the Lord keep watch over knowledge, but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.” In terms of world events, I see everyone looking to politicians, businessmen and women, athletes, and anyone else who has a platform for answers to what we all deal with daily. However, the conundrum continues because they do not have any answers themselves for what is going on.

This begs the question: Why does it seem that the world is always in chaos and crisis? It is because we lack faith in Jesus Christ individually, therefore we have become poor representatives of Him, so we are not affecting the culture in a positive way for His kingdom. If we as persons are spiritually defunct, the outcome will be a world that is chaotic. As followers of Christ, we are called to share our testimony, serve, and give as God directs us.  When we look to the world for answers, we open the door for secular entities to come in and fill the void where the Church should be making an impact.

I believe until we seek God individually and repent for our unfaithfulness to Him, God will continue to frustrate our solutions to point us back towards seeking Him first for the answers to our problems.

Memory Verse: Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life. - Proverbs 22:4

Prayer: Lord, please forgive us for our unfaithfulness towards you. As your followers, we have lost our way in merging our lives with the world system and have allowed it to affect our testimony. Please forgive us and Holy Spirit lead us back to Jesus Christ who is Lord above all. In Jesus name, Amen.
