December 1
The holidays are upon us! But before we get caught up in the busyness of the season, join us for an evening as we pause to celebrate the beginning of Advent, a season in the Church calendar dedicated to the hopeful anticipation for the arrival of Emmanuel-God with us. Women of New North, please join us for an evening of worship, contemplation, and fellowship with other ladies on Friday, December 1 from 6:30 to 9pm. We endeavor to come together before the Lord to worship in a familiar way through song AND to experiment with silence as a way to eliminate distractions and to tune our spiritual ears to hear his still small voice. Contact Zohary: zoharyr@newnorth.church with any questions.
November 4 - December 3
This Christmas we are continuing our partnership with Help One Child to minister to kids and families in San Francisco's foster care system. Beginning on November 5, come to church on Sunday and pick up an ornament with information about a child and their desired Christmas gift. Return your unwrapped gift with the ornament number to our San Francisco campus by Sunday, December 3. (Keep in mind, if you are shopping online, that the items must arrive by the gift return deadline.) These gifts go directly to kids and families right here in San Francisco. Let’s show Christ’s love this season. NOTE: There will be no online option, come in person to 777 Brotherhood Way on Sundays to get a gift tag. For questions, email Sam at samc@newnorth.church
December 9
Join Mobilize Love for their annual outreach on Saturday, December 9 from 10-4pm for a resource fair featuring raffle prizes and other services for families at the SF Giants' Oracle Stadium Parking Lot. Churches from across the city are serving and we need volunteers to serve with our church to lead crafts! So sign up with our church using the link below. January - March
Dr. Mark Mitchell's Bay Area School of Ministry is hosting a course on Soul Care that's open to everyone. The class will meet on Monday nights at 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm from January 18- March 18 at Sequoia Christian Church in Redwood City, CA. The course will be taught by Mark Mitchell and our very own Zohary Ross. This class will explore a biblical theology of spiritual formation, as well as the spiritual practices that are helpful as we seek to become conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. Particularly attention will be given to these things as they apply to Christian leaders. How can Christian leaders care for their own soul? What are the dynamics of leadership that threaten the development of the inner life of the soul and how can we overcome them? Learn more about the course by signing up below.
