PLAN YOUR VISIT

0-2 YEARS

NURSERY

In our nursery, parents can drop off their kids to a safe and inviting environment where our littlest littles can be free to roam, play, and explore. We have books, toys, and amazing volunteers who want to make sure both kids and their adults can enter an atmosphere of worship on any given Sunday morning.

3-4 YEARS

PRESCHOOL

We strive to provide a a safe and fun environment where our young kids can learn and play. Along with a weekly Bible story, we play games and do a craft that reinforces both our weekly and monthly themes of how even the smallest of kids can play a big role in God’s kingdom!

K-5TH GRADE

ELEMENTARY

Elementary Ministry is a fun and faith-building place for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. We enjoy music, a lesson, and a small group time that involves deeper discussions, crafts or games.

STAY UP
TO DATE

We send monthly newsletters featuring resources, sunday school curriculum, events reminders, and family opportunities to serve with our church.

MEET OUR TEAM

SAM CERDENA

KIDS DIRECTOR

Teacher Sam loves God and loves serving kids. He’s done both over a career as a former classroom teacher, and with us as a director since before we were New North in 2016. One of his formative moments as an educator happened in 2010 after he participated in an international study group in Italy. At the closing of this event, he spent the night in a saber-toothed cat exhibit in an airport due to a volcanic emergency in a neighboring country, where he realized his commitment to serving kids and clarified the need to marry his then-girlfriend, now wife and amazing mother to their two children. He’s got stories and loves to share them especially when the stories lead kids and families to a deeper knowledge and love for God.

HILDA LAU

KIDS COORDINATOR

Hilda loves serving in Kids Ministry because it provides a unique opportunity to nurture and guide young hearts as they learn about God. She loves the boundless energy, curiosity, and joy they bring into everything they do. Serving in Kids Ministry is especially fulfilling because it gives the chance to instill important life lessons and faith-based values as they grow in their faith.

SAFETY + FAQ

We love our New North kids and families and want to ensure all policies and procedures are in place to protect, love, and support in the best way possible.

POLICY AND PROCEDURES

Your child’s safety

Here at New North we believe that for a child to effectively encounter the Gospel, they and their parents must know they are in a safe environment. Jesus cares deeply about the safety of your child, and so do we. We have many policies, procedures, systems, and steps to ensure your child is 100% safe in our care. We have downloadable policies and procedures for both our Kids and Student Ministries so that you can keep them and read through them.

We also have a multiple-step process that our volunteers go through before they take care of and pour into your children (outlined in the policies and procedures). Every one of our volunteers goes through a stringent background check and training process to ensure the safety of your child. If you have any questions about these policies, procedures, or measures, we are more than happy to talk to you about them in greater depth.

What is MinistrySafe?

We have partnered with MinistrySafe, an Institute to equip ministry leaders with an understanding of the issues and how to navigate them best. MinistrySafe has multiple videos that educate volunteers and leaders in kid and student ministries. They also have videos specifically for parents. If you are interested in learning more, please email [email protected] and we'd love to send you those videos free of charge.

I’m interested in Baby Dedications

Here at New North, we want to publicly acknowledge our gratitude and commitment to the Lord in receiving and raising our children so we host quarterly Baby dedications during our Sunday services to dedicate each child to the Lord. Learn more about what we believe and sign up here.

What times does drop-off start?

Check-in and drop offs begin 15 minutes before the start of each service time.

If I am a guest, where do I go on Sunday to check my kids in?

How do you contact parents if needed?

When kids are registered, we have the information needed to be able to contact parents.
