Scriptures to read:

Hebrews 12; Exodus 16:1-17:16; Proverbs 7:6-27

With so many messages being thrown at us, whether it is subtle while walking through a store or outside or more direct in social media advertising, conversations or news. It is found in studies that nowadays, our brain is exposed to between 6,000-10,000 different types of messages a day. So how do we filter and essentially protect our peace? For some, it can be taking a break from social media, being mindful of how much screen time we take in, news, etc. It can look so different for each person. When we first moved to the Bay area a year ago, I went off of Social Media for about 90 days because I wanted to be fully present while building relationships, settling into our new home, and, most importantly, spending time with God.

Reading Hebrews 12 highlights the importance of keeping our eyes on Jesus. Hebrews 12:1 “ Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” This race of life does not slow down for anyone, but we have to continually remind ourselves that we are stronger than the way we may perceive ourselves. Ultimately the decisions that we make and will always one way or another will bring us closer or further from Him. In everything, we do, God is present; now, whether we choose to give Him space in the things we do, it is ultimately up to us. I always tell myself, today is a new day that I will claim victory in Christ and have a clean slate. So let us champion today together in Him.

Memory Verse: Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. - Hebrews 12:2

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for a new day in our journey in life. I know that you see us in every avenue and path that I take. I pray that today and every day will only bring me closer to you. That my love for you only grows to new heights, and I can see all that you have purposed for me with my time here on earth. I give you all the praise and glory for all that has been done and will be done. In Jesus name, Amen.
