Scriptures to read:

Matthew 12:22-50; Leviticus 15-16; Proverbs 27

The last time I read the Bible in one year, I breezed through it. This year, I made a decision to not only read it, but also to dig in a little deeper. Let me tell you, that Solomon guy was wise! He's also a bit random. Like, why are we talking about friends, rebuke, humility, and a couple of other topics all at once? Truthfully speaking - I love it. I'm a super random person and that's usually how my conversations go - all over the place!

In one of my last counseling sessions, we talked about the importance of building friendships and really working on making deeper connections with current friends - quality over quantity.

I loved a few scriptures in Proverbs today talking about heartfelt counsel from a friend. It also said that "wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy." (Proverbs 27:6) I felt that.

How many of you have had to have a difficult conversation with a friend that was brutally honest? At the moment, it stings a little. But after you listen to the Holy Spirit, you realize there were so many truths and golden nuggets you could walk away with.

Sometimes the words we hear from our friends and family may not be exactly what we want to hear. Take a moment to ponder on those and ask the Lord to open up your heart to constructive criticism and honest feedback. It can change your life!

Memory Verse: Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy. - Matthew 27:6

Prayer: Lord, please open up my heart and my mind when your truth is spoken to me. Help me be open-minded and receive your word. I pray that I don't react with emotion but with understanding. I pray that the words spoken to me and over me help me grow and develop to be the woman of God you created me to be. Thank you for the friends that you have given me.
