Student Ministries Director or Pastor

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Middle School Ministry (MSM) and High School Ministry (HSM)
  • Implement the vision and strategy for the spiritual growth of middle school and high school students
  • Develop a strategy for reaching unchurched students with the gospel
  • Recruit, equip, train, and shepherd teams of leaders to work with MSM and HSM
  • Develop meaningful, pastoral relationships with students through a variety of settings
  • Oversee the development of a core of student leaders
  • Connect and counsel students, parents and people in the body as the need arises
  • Create and run vibrant Sunday morning services
  • Be one of the primary teachers for Middle School and High School Ministry on Sunday mornings
  • Provide leadership to MSM and HSM mid-week event (currently Life Groups)
  • Create effective transitions for students moving into and out of MSM and HSM
  • Oversee the organization and planning of activities, retreats, and the overall student ministry calendar in conjunction with the greater church and its events and ministries
  • Communicate regularly with parents and students via email, text, and social media
  • Oversee the Student Ministry Pastoral Resident 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the rest of the Generations Team to foster a cohesive experience across Generations ministries
  • Work with the rest of the Generations Team on projects and activities spanning multiple ministries
  • Implement and execute the Best Practices of New North Church
  • Be available to do other tasks that the Generations Pastor deems necessary
  • Participate in pastoral care of New North Church (ie. weddings, funerals, visitation, pastor-on-duty,, etc.)
  • Take initiative in shepherding for people in the church body outside of those connected to Student Ministries
  • Teach a few times a year at New North in environments other than student ministries (ie. main service, Men’s Frat, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; desiring to grow in His love and knowledge
  • Must champion the mission, vision, values, doctrinal statement, statement of faith, and white papers of New North Church
  • Must exemplify (by God’s grace) the qualifications of church leaders as laid out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus

  • 4-year degree, Bible College or Seminary training preferred

  • Multi-site experience desirable
  • 5 years of pastoral experience a plus

  • LEAD | The Band, Musicians, and Vocal Team at New North Church - which includes all processes pertaining to volunteer onboarding, training, scheduling, communication, and off-boarding while providing genuine care for the well-being of the volunteer team in conjunction with the Worship & Creative Pastor and any volunteer leaders
  • MANAGE | The Musicians and scheduling of worship teams quarterly and with any necessary weekly adjustments, including overseeing teams
  • MAINTAIN | Current standards of operation, improving systems and execution while also pioneering new ways for the teams to execute well and create meaningful community within
  • STEWARD | New North Church's resources and musical equipment including the maintenance, inventory, upkeep and upgrading of existing equipment keeping the stage area and back stage areas neat, organized and clutter free along with the staff you collaborate with

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be the MD at NNC’s Sunday services -  help plan and run rehearsals 
  • Potential Worship Leader in rotation, per skillset
  • Leadership presence on stage to the teams in sound checks, rehearsals and services
  • Oversight of pipeline and end-to-end assimilation processes
  • Schedule and maintain Band and Vocals proactively through necessary tools (examples: Google Calendar, PCO)
  • Prepares and handles all stems and Ableton
  • Emphasis on raising the value, quality and creativity — keeping up with current trends with a forward looking mindset bringing effectiveness, vision and relevance
  • Recommends, develops, and implements ideas, goals, and approaches 
  • Builds networks of artists, musicians, vocalists and other talent

Team Development

  • Help oversee recruitment, onboarding (and off-boarding, when needed) and assimilation of new team members
  • Communicating needs and requests to volunteer team along with reporting back volunteer experience to staff
  • Champions collaboration of all related teams that are interwoven into Worship & Creative and across organization

Administrative:

  • Schedules, attends or runs weekly rehearsals
  • Prepares meeting matters ahead of time; executes action items promptly and communicates proactively
  • Ongoing Planning Center (PCO) and roster maintenance production volunteers
  • Production Inventory — regularly updates and maintains (excluding IT)

Production Director

New North Church is looking for someone who is eager to train and develop volunteers and others throughout the church to further the technical and production ministry areas while being open and willing to execute creative ideas throughout services.

  • LEAD | The Production team at New North Church - which includes all processes pertaining to volunteer onboarding, training, scheduling, communication, and off-boarding while providing genuine care for the well-being of the volunteer team in conjunction with and under Worship Director.
  • MANAGE | The Production Volunteer Team on the setup, execution, and breakdown of all things related to production for services and other ministries events. This includes overseeing the technical teams and ensuring that all video elements within the weekend flow are in place and that volunteers are fully engaged and receive regular communication. 
  • MAINTAIN | Current standards of operation, improve systems and execution of production, and pioneer new ways for the production team to create meaningful ways for the congregation to experience Jesus through thoughtful and creative production.
  • STEWARD | New North Church's resources and equipment including the maintenance, inventory, upkeep and upgrading of existing equipment, keeping things neat, organized and clutter free.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and execute weekend worship services (both online and in-person) from the technical side, in conjunction with the Video Production Manager, Music Director and the Worship & Creative Pastor - Given the nature of rehearsals and Sunday services, participation at Sunday morning services and rehearsals are mandatory 
  • Leadership presence in the Sunday worship environments
  • Oversight of pipeline and end-to-end assimilation processes
  • Schedules and maintains Production Teams proactively through necessary tools (examples: Google Calendar, PCO).
  • Prepares and handles weekly media for services.
  • Serves as primary video editor of regularly occurring New North Media
  • Emphasis on raising the value, quality and creativity of video production (live and post) — keeping up with current trends with a forward looking mindset bringing effectiveness, vision and relevance to our mission.
  • Recommends, develops, and implements ideas, goals, and approaches for the Production environment.
  • Collaborates closely with the Worship Director.
  • Builds networks of technical and production artists, local and beyond with the Worship Director.
  • Interfaces with Communications on the capture and development of creative and media.

Services & Event Production

  • Provide and maintain a high level of excellence in all technical aspects of the weekend experience.
  • Oversee system management for production gear owned by New North Church in conjunction with the Worship Director.
  • Help plan and run events for worship and production teams.
  • Works with additional contract editors on large scale or auxiliary projects. 
  • Assists in weekly stage setup and related workflows for Sundays.
  • Assists in maintenance of all technical equipment, and troubleshooting.

Team Development

  • Train and lead volunteer teams that oversee key technical areas for New North Church services
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding (and off-boarding, when needed) and assimilation of production volunteers
  • Communicating needs and requests to volunteer team along with reporting back volunteer experience to staff
  • Develop and oversee communication to the applicable Worship and Creative teams
  • Champions collaboration of all related teams that are interwoven into Worship & Creative and across organization


Administrative:

  • Leads weekly Production Team meeting, attends Worship & Creative Meeting, and All Staff Meeting

  • LEAD | Audio Production team at New North Church - which includes all processes pertaining to volunteers training, scheduling, communication, and off-boarding while providing genuine care for the well-being of the volunteer team in conjunction with the Worship & Creative Core Team
  • MANAGE | The setup, execution, and breakdown of all things related to audio production for services, weekly service broadcasts, recordings, rehearsals, and any media that is released or curated by NNC or our vendors and partners
  • MAINTAIN | Current standards of operation for current and future audio systems at all locations, firmware and computer updates, improving systems and execution of audio production, pioneering new ways that raise audio production value consistently
  • STEWARD | New North Church's resources and equipment including the maintenance, inventory, upkeep and upgrading of existing equipment, keeping things neat, organized and clutter free

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary audio engineer and mixer of New North Media, weekly and as needed
  • Emphasis on raising the value, quality and creativity of audio production (live and post) — keeping up with current trends with a forward looking mindset bringing effectiveness, vision and relevance to our mission
  • Recommends, develops, and implements ideas, goals, and approaches for the Production environment in collaboration with the Video Production Manager or Service Producer. 
  • Builds networks of technical and production artists, local and beyond
  • Interfaces with Communications Director on the capture and final mixing of media

Services & Event Production

  • Provide and maintain a high level of excellence in all technical aspects of the weekend experience
  • Oversee system management for production gear owned by New North Church
  • Help plan and run events within the Worship & Creative ministry environment
