Scriptures to read:

Hebrews 9:1-22; Exodus 6:28-8:32; Proverbs 2

Let us be honest with ourselves right now. It is never fun to make mistakes. While we may learn some timely life lessons after those mistakes, the road to how you got there is not always the road that any of us would willingly choose.

In about the last decade, I went through an ‘ignorance’ period where I felt that my faith would carry me through difficult things. However, secretly, I was still thinking I could overcome the hardest things I had experienced at my own hands and at the hands of others. The answer: I could not do anything apart from God. So, in the last year, God decided to shake me to my core. Even when I got to my rock bottom place, I heard Him speak to me saying “You’re not even at the end of yourself yet.”

You see, friends, we can strive all we want to do things our own way. Alternatively, we cannot believe that following Christ will cause us to never make another mistake. The Bible guarantees hardships in our faith journey. Yet, when we set our eyes and hearts on following Christ, He will help us along the way to have the wisdom to separate what is of this world to what is of and for the Kingdom.

May we be earnest in not choosing our own way in search of the One who can lead us on an adventure of faith that is far beyond even our wildest dreams!

Memory Verse: For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - Proverbs 2:6

Prayer: Lord, there are times when I think my life would be better if I did things my own way. You continue to remind me that I am never alone, and I do not have to live this life alone. May I hunger for your righteousness and chase after your goodness every day. For in You, I find a renewed faith, a caring heart, and a joy to share what you have done for me with others. In Jesus name, Amen.
