This Sunday Pastor Rob preaches from Mark 9:14-29 where we see Jesus heal a demon-possessed boy and inviting a desperate father into honest prayer: “I do believe, help me overcome my unbelief!” When our need for control ends, real prayer begins. This week’s message reminds us that when prayer is all you have left, you’ll find, it’s all you need.
Discussion Questions:
Warm Up:
- What is the biggest step of faith you’ve ever taken? How did it go?
- When have you prayed something specific for a family member that “didn’t work”? Or that was not answered in the way/ timing you wanted?
Reflect on the Message:
- This week we learned: When our faith is struggling, we are still invited to pray honestly to the ONE who can do the impossible.
- It’s not the size of our faith (mustard seed), but the object of our faith (Jesus) that matters.
Scripture Engagement: Read Mark 9:20-26, Matthew 17: 19- 20
- Mark 9:29: What is ONE impossible prayer that you are persisting in?
- What is something that you have not prayed/ fasted about that you need to bring to him today?
Personal Connection:
- When prayer is all you have left, you’ll find, it’s all you need!
- What is one area you feel powerless? Where do you need His power?
- Who is someone you need to bring to the Father today?
Group Prayer Time
- Pick a worship song to listen to together
- Write a poem, song or prayer and share with the group about one thing that seems big (impossible)!
