This Sunday, Pastor Rob Hall preached from Acts 8, showing how the Holy Spirit leads ordinary believers across extraordinary boundaries with the good news of Jesus. Through Philip’s ministry in Samaria and his conversation with the Ethiopian official, we saw that God works through disruptions we didn’t choose, calls us across boundaries we’d rather keep, and invites us to engage people we might overlook. The people around us and the situations God places us in are our mission field. Who might God be inviting you to notice, move toward, and share the love of Jesus with?

1. Icebreaker. Who was the first person who helped you understand the Bible or introduced you to Jesus? What did they do that helped you grow in your faith?

2. God works through disruptions we didn't choose. Pastor Rob shared how a doctor's appointment turned into several God-ordained conversations. Acts 8 shows how persecution scattered the early church, but God used it to spread the gospel. When has God used an unexpected interruption or change in your plans to accomplish something you wouldn't have chosen yourself?

3. God calls us across boundaries we'd rather keep. Philip crossed a centuries-old divide between Jews and Samaritans to share the good news of Jesus. God still calls us to cross boundaries we might naturally avoid. Who are the people or groups in your life that you might be hesitant or uncomfortable reaching out to? What might it look like to extend Jesus' love to them?

4. God invites us to engage people we might overlook. Philip's encounter with the Ethiopian official reminds us that God is already preparing people to hear the good news. Our job is to look for those opportunities and be willing to respond. Who in your everyday life might God be inviting you to notice, engage, or have a spiritual conversation with? What might it look like to Go, Listen, Speak, and Obey?

5. Group Prayer. Praise God for crossing the heavenly boundary to come to us! Pray together for God to reveal who in your life is ready to hear the Good News and for courage to obey Him.
